The last 2 days we covered about 80 miles, yesterday was a pretty uneventful day sailing/motoring from Coinjok to the beginning of the alligator-pungo canal. We were able to put the sails out across the Albemarle Sound and the Alligator river, With a following sea and wind we cruised around 6 knots. Today we traveled across the 21 mile canal to the Pungo river. Once we got to the Pungo River we were able to sail all the way up to Belhaven, with 1 stop at the Dowry Creek Marina for fuel, water, a pump out and LP Gas refill. That marina was great and Mike the dockmaster was a huge help. The wind was blowing 20 knots off the dock and he handled the lines like a pro. Once we anchored in Belhavens Harbor we went ashore grabbed some pizza and made a stop at the grocery. This is another very nice town and a great stop.
