Day 84- Time to Make Water

As we wait out the next weather system, today was the perfect day to get some more things done, We bought a portable water maker before we left, which means we take sea water and turn it into drinking water. It takes about 2 hours to fill up our tanks on the boat. When we test the water coming out of the water maker it actually tests cleaner than the tap water at home. The way the water maker works is a high pressure pump that we plug into our generator, pumps water into 2 large filters at over 800 psi. That forces the salt and any other debris out of the water. It is a great tool to have especially in the Bahamas, because if you want water anywhere you pay by the gallon, even out of a hose tap.

We will be here until next Monday, so we may miss a day or 2 posting, since there really is not much going on. Hopefully the weather clears quickly so we can continue the adventure.
