With a cold front blowing in and a possible storm forming off the coast, we plan on anchoring a few days. Today we toured the Kennedy Space Center, it was a unplanned tour, but it was worth it, we figured we would probably not ever be back in this area and it was pretty cool to see. They had a lot on display, including all of the rockets that launched in the 60’s and 70’s that brought all the astronauts to the moon. It is hard to believe that it has been over 50 years since they sent another manned rocket to the moon. We did enjoy learning about rockets and seeing the future plans that NASA has. The pictures in this post are of the actual shuttle Atlantis, and it was really cool to see up close. Unfortunately i still remember watching the Challenger shuttle disaster in the 6th grade, we were watching the shuttle launch live and seen everything happen in real time. They did have a very nice memorial section for all of the astronauts that lost their lives that day. This was not a planned stop, however we are glad we did take this tour.

Do they still have the Saturn V rocket there? Massive Rocket laying on its side. One of three left over after the Apollo program.
Unfortunately we did not get over to the visitor center for the Saturn rocket, we missed the time window for the buses. But i do believe it is still there
