Day 5- Oxford to Solomons

Today was a brutal day on the water, we left our protected anchorage near Oxford, we preceded out of the Choptank River to a very angry Chesapeake bay. Our course was South, Wind direction out of the South at 20-25 knots. Waves were high and the squalls were plentiful. We traveled about 37 miles which took us over 10 hours. We got to the Solomons at dark and anchored in Mill Creek, where the water is very calm. “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor” FDR

    1. It seems like every time we go to the Solomons we take a beating. We had similar conditions the last time we sailed there too
