Day 10- Deltaville VA – Norfolk, VA

We got the boat ready around 7 a.m. for departure, as we motored out to the bay the wind was howling. I foolishly put out a full main and genoa, the boat was quickly overpowered and waves were crashing over the bow. We turned into the wind and reefed both sails. after sailing out about 4 miles into the bay we turned south, again with the wind on our back. I did struggle to keep the bow straight due to the high steep waves pushing it around. We changed sail configuration several times during the trip and after 42 miles we arrived in a anchorage behind where all the big navy ships are docked. We will get pictures tomorrow. too exhausted today.
